About the course

Tax is one of the few areas of running a company where the decisions that matter most are made long before anything is filed. By the time a return is due, the structure is set, the year has happened, and the options have narrowed to how you report it. The more you understand about how structure, timing and claims interact, the better positioned you are to make those decisions while they are still open.

This program is taught by the accountants who do this work for the Aragon portfolio every month, in a regulatory environment where what worked three years ago often no longer applies. You will work through corporate structure, claims and credits, compensation, sales tax and cross-border exposure, and what a CRA reviewer is actually looking for, using real filings rather than textbook examples.

It is built for founders and finance leads past their first fiscal year, and for accounting professionals who want to advise on tax strategy rather than only prepare returns.

Who it is for

Founders and finance leads past their first fiscal year, and accounting professionals who want to advise on tax strategy rather than only prepare returns.

Founders in the Aragon portfolio take these courses as part of the work we already do with them. Courses are also open to founders and professionals outside the portfolio.

Bring your own filings. The sessions work through real numbers, and the more of yours you bring, the more useful the six modules are.
