About the course
Payroll is the one back office function where a mistake is visible to everyone in the company within a day. It is also the one where the consequences of getting it wrong compound quietly: a missed remittance, a misclassified deduction, a compensation structure set in a hurry that becomes the precedent for every hire after.
This program covers running payroll properly in Canada and the compensation decisions sitting behind the numbers. You will set up CRA accounts and remittance schedules, work through CPP, EI and source deductions, choose and configure a payroll system for a company your size, and handle year end. From there it moves into strategy: building compensation bands you can defend in a negotiation, structuring bonuses and commission without creating behaviour you did not intend, and explaining equity alongside salary to a candidate weighing another offer.
Taught by the person who runs our HR and workforce programs, alongside our accounting firm. It is built for founders, office managers and finance leads who own payroll or are about to.
